Visit our spectacular Bays around the East Coast of New Zealand plus see a little of the interior of the North Island. From the air enjoy the sights of volcanoes, forests, dairy farms, and the amazing changing landscape within the compact area of the central and Upper North Island. And it’s not all about scenic views. 

 Our tour has been designed to show off some of New Zealand’s great land and water based offerings, including viewing dolphins and whales, visiting local wine making regions, and viewing a local gannet colony.

Tour Details

  • Tour covers 7 days, 6 nights.

  • Depart from and return to Whitianga.

  • Stay overnight in the following towns: Mount Maunganui, Napier (2 nights), the Bay of Islands (2 nights) staying at Pahia or Russell, Great Barrier Island.

  • Actual flight time: 7 - 8 hours.

Included In the Cost

  • All flights related costs including fuel.

  • 6 nights accommodation, staying at 4-Star+ level accommodation.

  • All meals and food.

  • Any land-based activities and excursions.

  • Hire of any rental vehicle at any location.

Optional Land-Based Activities

Over the 7 day period we visit a number of towns in the upper North Island region. This gives our visitors great opportunity to enjoy some amazing land-based activities. This includes:

  • Water excursions and boat rides, the opportunity to see dolphins and whales.

  • Viewing an established gannet colony.

  • Visiting local wineries and local museums – an aviation museum, car museum.

  • Enjoying Napier, the art deco city that was rebuilt after the 1933 earthquake.

  • Visiting the Waitangi Treaty house.

  • Taking a drive around Great Barrier Island.

Confirming Your Booking | Booking Deposit

  • To confirm your booking a deposit of 20% of your tour cost is required. ($2000 NZD).

  • This deposit is refundable in full if cancellation occurs up until 2 months of tour commencement. Thereafter, a cancellation fee of 50% of the deposit will apply if cancellation occurs up until one month prior to tour commencement.

  • No refund of deposit will occur if cancellation occurs within 30 days of tour commencement.

Day one highlights

  • Flightseeing coastal route to Tauranga is very scenic, opportunity to land at intermediate airstrips such as Pauanui Beach, (Slipper Island),(Waihi Beach).
  • Arrival at Tauranga is very stunning in itself with Mt Maunganui prominently displayed at the harbour entrance. Summer is the time for very large cruise ships to be berthed at the Port of Tauranga.
  • Visit an aviation museum. http://classicflyersnz.com
  • Cafe lunch at museum then travel to Mt Maunganui village for an afternoon of shopping, beach, cafés, around mountain walks and sitting on Pilot Bay beach to watch the evening sunset.
  • Overnight in the Mt Maunganui village, dining at local cafés, followed by a relaxed stroll home along the beach..
